Dual Credits

Dual credit programs are Ministry of Education approved programs that allow students, who are still in secondary school, to take college or apprenticeship courses that count towards an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree, or an apprenticeship certification.

• Students may earn up to four optional credits for college-delivered dual credit courses.
• Students may not use college-delivered dual credits to meet compulsory credit requirements or to satisfy the related course requirement for a co-operative education program.

Algonquin College Partnership

In Renfrew County, we have a partnership with Algonquin College for the Dual Credit Program. Since students must attend the college one afternoon per week as part of the dual credit requirement, these courses are most suitable for students who are registered in co-op or for part-time senior students.
